Gail Glass, 67


Georgetown, MA — Gail L. (Marble) Glass, age 67 years, of Georgetown, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, following a brief illness. She was the wife of Alexander Glass and the daughter of the late Chandler Elsworth and Dorothy Joyce (Abbott) Marble.

Born in Lynn, Gail was raised in Swampscott, where she was educated and graduated from Swampscott High School, Class of 1963. Besides making a home for her husband and children, Gail worked as a receptionist for 14 years at Glovsky and Glovsky Law Offices in Beverly. She was an avid gardener. She enjoyed traveling, playing Bridge and golf. Most important to Gail was her family with a special fondness for her beloved grandchildren.

Besides her loving husband, Alexander of fifty years, she is survived by her children, David Glass of Westford, Elisabeth Madelly of Georgetown and Jennifer Holly Glass of Georgetown; four grandsons, Thatcher MacPherson Madelly, Jake Alexander Glass, Treighton Connery Madelly and Hunter Wilder Madelly; her two sisters, Deborah J. Marble of Byfield and Heather A. Sarno of Salem. She also leaves her aunts and uncle, Nancy Bryne of West Dennis and Shirley and William Abbott of Clearwater, Fla., as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held in the Solimine, Landergan & Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Rte. 1A), Lynn, on Saturday at noon. Interment will be in Swampscott Cemetery.
