Center Barnstead, N.H. — Arthur Marquis, Sr., 71, died Monday, May 6, 2013.
Born and raised in Salem, Mr. Marquis was the son of Cecile (Demeule) Marquis of Beverly and the late Arthur P. Marquis.
Early in his career, Mr. Marquis moved houses and then worked for Lebel Grove as a mason tender. He spent more than 25 years as a machinist with PK Lindsay in New Hampshire.
Mr. Marquis was an avid hunter and a proud member of the NRA. He held a 3rd degree black belt in karate and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree.
He was the widower of Dianne (Pooler) Marquis, who died in 2008 and was also predeceased by a grandson, Brandon in 1993.
He is survived by five children all living in New Hampshire, Arthur Jr., Joseph, Suzanne Jenness, Linda Brasley and Deborah; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; his fiancée, Alicia Lessard; siblings, Richard Marquis and Pauline Marston of New Hampshire, and Cecile Robinson and Jeannette Hamilton of Beverly.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours are at the Still Oaks Funeral Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Hwy., Epsom, N.H., on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Pittsfield.
