Barbara Jeanne (Banks) King, 73


Middleton — Mrs. Barbara Jeanne (Banks) King, 73, beloved wife of Thomas R. King, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Beverly Hospital in Beverly, surrounded by her family.

Born in Groton, she was the daughter of the late David and Gladys (Garwood) Banks. She was raised and educated in Woburn.

Mrs. King had been employed as a supervisor with the Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation in Hathorne and Georgetown. Barbara was recognized for her dedication to her profession by being named as “The Employee of the Department” on several occasions. Her dedication and commitment to her colleagues and those in her care will always be recalled as true.

A resident of the Town of Middleton since 1974, Barbara was a talented artist who created many watercolor works of art throughout the years. She was a member of the Middleton Art Association and the Danvers Art Association. She was an avid gardener and had a true love of nature. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and true friend, Mrs. King will be deeply missed.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Denise M. (Foden) Delaney and her husband, Jack E., of Middleton, Pamela J. Foden of Middleton, and Corinne W. King of Shelton, Conn.; her sons, Vincent T. Foden and his wife, Colleen Leal-Foden, of Sterling, and Eric T. King and his wife, Elaine, of Ansonia, Conn.; her three grandchildren, Ryan Foden, Dylan Foden and Jennifer K. Coffey; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late David and Jeffrey Banks and Connie Brown.
