Beverly — Mr. James P. Callahan, age 51, of Beverly, died Wednesday morning in a local nursing home, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Alfred J. and Mary J. (Buckley) Callahan. He was raised in Peabody, was a graduate of Peabody High School and spent most of his life there.
James worked in the inventory control department of Cardinal Health in Peabody for many years. An avid Red Sox fan, he also coached Little League in Peabody and was an avid collector of baseball memorabilia.
He leaves his brother, David A. Callahan and his fiancé, Lisa Hardy of Allenstown, N.H. and his niece and nephews, Kayla and David Callahan and John Howard. He also leaves his special friend Silvia Updegrove of Salem and his close friend David Lane of Peabody.
