Marietta, Ga. — Mr. Thomas Henry Laird, age 74, of Marietta passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013.
Mr. Laird lived in Atlanta for over 20 years having previously lived in Germany. He was a 1957 Boston Latin graduate where he lettered in Track and Football. He was part of the Military Honor Guard and was also an honor student. He started at Coca-Cola in Cambridge, as a route salesman. He progressed to plant manager and eventually to International Business Development and then transitioned to Domestic Corporate Marketing. He retired from Coca-Cola after 38 years of dedicated service.
Mr. Laird is preceded in death by the love of his life, Marilyn Laird, to whom he was married for 38 years. He is survived by his children, Thomas Stephen Laird of Houston, Texas, William Scott Laird of Edmonton, Ky., and Sherry Ann Long of San Jose, Calif.; his sister, Ruth Walsh of Coraopolis, Pa.; three grandchildren, Nathan Laird, Benjamin Laird and Kaitlin Laird and two great-grandchildren, Raegan Laird and Misty Matheson.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, Ga. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. and will also have a reception immediately following the service at the funeral home.
