Beverly — Dolores "Doly" (Robertson) Furnari, 93, of Beverly passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, March 19, surrounded by family. She was the wife of the late Joseph Furnari.
Dolores is survived by her daughter, Barbara Cotoia, wife of the late Anthony M. Cotoia of Shrewsbury; her sons, Michael J. Furnari and his wife, Joan of Ipswich, Patrick J. Furnari and his partner, Susan Ivester of North Reading; her daughter-in-law, Caroline Furnari, wife of the late Nicolas Furnari. In addition to her children, she is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was predeceased by her grandson, Eric Furnari.
Doly was born and raised in Madison, Wisc., and was one of ten children. After her marriage to Joseph Furnari (a Beverly native) they moved to Beverly where they raised a family and she became an active member of the community. For many years she was employed by the New England Telephone Company and also worked at Beverly Hospital, Star Market, Kings Grant Motor Lodge and North Shore Community College. Doly was always known as a loving and caring person who relished a good game of cards and sharing with others. For the past twenty years she has been a resident of Jaclen Towers of Beverly and enjoyed the time spent with her fellow residents. She will be dearly missed by her family and all those who loved her.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Doly at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Monday, March 25, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly. Services will conclude with burial at St. Mary Cemetery, Beverly. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doly’s name can be made to a charity of one's choice.
