Peabody — Joseph F. Grinis, age 82, of Peabody, formerly of Michigan, New York, Chicago and Florida, died Tuesday, September 18, at Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Madelyn (Clark) Grinis, and the son of the late Joseph W. and Agnes (Sliney) Grinis. Born on May 1, 1930, in Detroit, Joseph and his wife Madelyn have lived in Peabody for the last 15 years.
Mr. Grinis was an artist, chef and merchant seaman on the Great Lakes. He was the former owner of the Deerpath Restaurant in Glen Arbor, Mich. He was a fine artist and sculptor, a businessman, a graphic specialist and a wonderful person.
Besides his wife Madelyn, he is survived by Dona DiPasquale of Mt. Clemens, Mich., Joann O’Mara of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Pat Bastien of Sterling Heights, Mich.
