Middleton — Mr. Daniel R. Grimes, 87, of Middleton, beloved husband of Carmela (Pascucci) Grimes, died on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the Rogers Memorial Hospital in Bedford.
Born in Malden, he was the son of the late Harriet (Barker) Grimes. He was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II.
Mr. Grimes had been employed for United States Postal Service for over 25 years, and at the time of his retirement, he had been stationed at the U.S. Postal Facility at Logan Airport in East Boston.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Daniel was an avid sports fan and a truly dedicated New England Patriots Fan. His love and dedication to his family was always first in his life, and he will be deeply missed.
In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, Daniel is survived by his devoted daughter, Anita Brown and her husband, Rodney, of Berwick, Maine; his loving sons, Daniel Grimes and his wife, Maureen, of Amesbury; and Michael Grimes of Middleton; his six cherished grandchildren; and one dear great-grandchild; his brother, Walter H. Grimes of Dunnellon, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., Route 62, Danvers, on Wednesday, March 12, at 8:15 a.m., followed by his funeral Mass in St. Richard Church, Forest St., Danvers, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited.
