Claire M. (Zipper) Hinman


Swampscott, Ma — Mrs. Claire M. (Zipper) Hinman, 77, of Swampscott, died on Thursday, March 13, 2014, in Salem Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Robert Hinman. She was born in Lynn, and was the daughter of the late Frank and Gladys (Anderson) Zipper. She was a graduate of Lynn schools. She lived in Lynn, California, Wakefield, Salem, and Swampscott.

Mrs. Hinman worked for many years as a real estate insurance adjuster for Bessom & Tilton, after which she worked as a real estate agent. She was working for Ben Mosho Real Estate at the time of her retirement. Mrs. Hinman was very active and social. She enjoyed visiting, shopping and dining with her friends. She was involved in the activities at the Swampscott Senior Center, and enjoyed participating in their classes. Her greatest joy was her grandson, Robert.

Mrs. Hinman is survived by her daughter, Roberta Seymour of Swampscott; her grandson, Robert J.D. Seymour of Swampscott; and her brother, Frank Zipper of Lynn. She was the sister of the late Paul, Jimmy and Edward Zipper.

ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial visitation will be on Thursday March 20, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway Route 129, Lynn. Donations may be made to the Christian Angel Smile Foundation, 246 Andover Street, Peabody, MA 01960.
