Denver, CO — Josephine E. (Hovasse) Lang, 93, passed away in Denver, Colo., on March 12, 2014. Formerly of Danvers and North Andover, she was born March 26, 1920, in Revere, Mass., to the late Elsie J. (Walwer) and August L. Hovasse. She was raised in Revere and Chelsea, Mass.
She is survived by sons, Brian T. (Joanne) Phillips of Telford, Pa., and Harry A. (Christine) Phillips of Denver; stepson, Roger J. Lang III (Janet) of Lowell, Mass.; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husbands, Roger J. Lang Jr. and Harry S. Phillips, who was a JJ Newberry’s store manager at Northshore Mall; and stepson, George M. Lang.
Jo was a salesperson for several years at Almy’s Department Store at Danvers Plaza. She was an avid bowler, bridge player and Boston Red Sox fan.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be held at 12 p.m., on April 5, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell, Mass., followed by burial, and reception luncheon.
