Hamilton — Helen (Pettingell) Chase, 89, beloved wife of the late Robert P. Chase, died on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by family.

Born in Swampscott, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Pettingell. She was raised in Danvers, and was a graduate of Danvers High School. She loved playing card games, cribbage and crossword puzzles.

A longtime resident of the Town of Hamilton, Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her. She devoted her life to her family and friends.

Surviving her are two grandchildren, Andrea Mainville and her fiancé, Ryan Rice of Hamilton, and Jeffrey Mainville of Beverly; three great-grandchildren, Sadie Mainville of Beverly, and Emma and Evelyn Rice, both of Hamilton.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held at the Christ Church of Hamilton, 149 Asbury St., Hamilton, on Friday, March 28, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell–Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, on Thursday, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield.
