Anna M. "Annie" (Nappi) Renda

formerly of Saugus and Lynn — Mrs. Anna M. “Annie” (Nappi) Renda, 92, formerly of Saugus, died on Sunday in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Louis B. Renda.

Annie was born and educated in Lynn, and was the daughter of the late Pasquale “Patsy” and Clotilda (DeMattia) Nappi.

Annie and her late husband, Louis, owned and operated the former Steve’s Diner in Malden. She previously worked at the former Weinstein Shoe Company in Lynn.

She was an active communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed sending cards with personal notes, traveling, cooking, and working in the garden.

She is survived by her two loving children, Debra A. Gallagher and her husband, John, of Danvers, and Stephen J. Renda and his wife, Barbara, of Lynn; her brother, John Nappi of Revere; her devoted grandchildren, Lauren Gallagher, Joseph and Andrew Renda, and Josh Pezzino; her great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Sam and Amelia; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Michael Nappi, Eleanor Kilgore, Lena Ostrowski, and Margaret Nuccio.

ARRANGEMENTS: Annie’s Funeral will be from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Thursday, at 8 a.m. Her funeral Mass will be held in Sacred Heart Church, West Lynn, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
