Danvers — Mr. Robert H. Hoag, 77, of Danvers, beloved husband of Judith (Ball) Hoag, died peacefully with his family by his side at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, Sunday, June 23, 2013.
Robert was born in Newark, N.J., son of the late Robert C. and Frances (Hare) Hoag. He was raised and educated in Newark and was a graduate of Newark Academy. He went on to further his education and graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in 1954, Cornell University in 1958 and University of New Hampshire School of Economics.
Mr. Hoag had been employed as Vice President of Fiduciary Trust Boston for over thirty years prior to his retirement in 1994.
He was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church in Beverly for over fifty years. A resident of Danvers for the past twenty-five years, Bob and his family had previously lived in Beverly for twenty-five years.
An avid golfer, he was a member of the Danvers Golf League. He and Judy enjoyed spending time with their family and friends and wintering in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., where he was able to spend time with his brother and family. A loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, Bob will be missed deeply by his family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife, Judith, he is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Rebecca Hoag of Rye, N.H., and David and Brenda Hoag of Goosecreek, S.C.; his grandchildren, Olivia, Claire, Andrew, Sarah and Matthew and his wife, Kasandra Hoag; his brother, David Hoag and his wife, Susan, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; sister-in-law and brother in-law, Nancy and Paul Griffin and niece, Jennifer Eckert of Indiana.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 4 Ocean St., Beverly, September 14, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Route 62), Danvers.
