BEVERLY — Mrs. Marguerite "Peg" A. (Lessard) Churchyard, 67, beloved wife of Edwin C. Churchyard, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by her family.
Born and raised in Beverly, she was the daughter of Wilfred Lessard of Boca Raton, Fla., and the late Dorothy (Harrington) Lessard.
Mrs. Churchyard was currently employed at Shaw's Supermarket in North Beverly having worked there for over 15 years.
A lifelong resident of the City of Beverly, she was a member of the card playing group "The Pokerettes." Peg enjoyed her frequent visits to Las Vegas and Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. She traveled there often with her son with whom she passed on her love of the casinos.
In addition to her husband with whom she shared 43 years of marriage, she is survived by her loving son, Patrick "Rick" Churchyard of Beverly, two nieces whom she considered daughters, Kelly Mackin and her husband, Tim of Lynnfield and Erin Erler of Haverhill, Erin's children, whom she considered as grandchildren, Allie, Zachary and Kerry Erler all of Haverhill; two sisters, Patricia Wallace of Seabrook, N.H. and Maureen Wade of Beverly; one brother, Wilfred Lessard of Beverly, her longtime friend, Yvette Flemming of Beverly; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her visiting hours will be held in the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly (North Beverly location), Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Her funeral service and burial will be private.
