PEABODY — Edward J. Kiley, 57, passed away on Saturday evening, Feb. 5, 2011 at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital in Boston, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Chapman) Kiley. He was a lifelong resident of the city, and graduated from Peabody High School, where he played on the football team.
Mr. Kiley was self-employed in the construction trade.
Ed will be remembered for his rugged, independent and simple living spirit. He enjoyed history, and loved animals of all kinds.
He is survived by: four brothers and a sister, Rich and his wife Joanne Kiley of Peabody, James Kiley and his wife Donna Landry of Danvers, Leo and his wife Pam Kiley of Marblehead, and Bart and his wife Nancy Kiley of Danvers and Catherine and her husband Joseph Hanley of Peabody; his nieces and nephews, Courtney, Leo, Gary, Chandra, Sheena, Michael and Sherry; a cousin, Robert Kiley of Peabody, and his loving dog, Bandit, as well as other extended family and friends throughout the North Shore.
ARRANGEMENTS: A simple cremation is planned at this time, and a family graveside with urn burial will be held at a future date to be announced.
