Mark B. Veilleux, 36

Danvers, MA — Mark B. Veilleux, passed peacefully at home after living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy for the past 36 years. Mark was the best uncle to his godson, Ben; nephew, Brad; and niece, Brooke. He cherished and adored them.

Mark graduated from Danvers High School in 1996. He would have loved to play football, but he was honored to be the team stat keeper, and wear #54. He was so proud to be named prom king his junior year. With the help of his dedicated cousin, Keri, Mark took classes at Endicott College. He enjoyed Sundays watching the Patriots with his family and friends. His life was truly enriched by his lifelong, best friend, Greg. With the great care his was given from his caring friend, Janelle, he was able to exceed all medical expectations. He loved traveling the country, watching his sister Amy's softball career. He was passionate about music, computers and technology. He was everyone's go-to guy when computer help was needed.

Although he suffered a lot in life, he was the strongest person with a huge heart.

He is survived by his parents, Mark and Judy Veilleux; his sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Jay Wilichoski; his best friends, Greg Maynard and Janelle St.Pierre Moroney; and special cousins, Keri Liacos Ferguson, and Jamie and Danny Morrison. He is also survived by many loving uncles, aunts and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Anna Morrison, and Lionel and Madeline Veilleux.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a visitation on Thursday evening, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the Mackey Funeral Home, 22 Conant Street, Danvers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Mark on Friday, at 11 a.m., in St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish, Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation cemetery. A memorial fund has been set up in his name. Donations may be made to the Mark Veilleux Memorial Fund, c/o Salem Five Bank, 85 High St., Danvers.
