Danvers — Herbert D. Trefrey, 84, devoted husband of the late Marilyn (Andersen) Trefrey, died Friday, October 18, 2013, following a brief illness.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Herbert G. and Hattie (Pearly) Trefrey. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army.
Mr. Trefrey had been employed for 47 years by the United Shoe Machine Corp. in Beverly until the time of his retirement.
Surviving him are three sons, Eric M. Trefrey of Danvers, William A. Trefrey and his wife, Brie, of Salem, and Alan B. Trefrey and his wife, Debbie, of Ipswich; and three grandchildren, Dan, Michelle and Katie Trefrey, all of Hamilton.
