Lynn, MA — Nancy L. “Nae” (Dagostino) Amenta, age 93, of Lynn, died Monday at a local nursing home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Guy N. Amenta. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Sabato and Louise (DiTroia) Dagostino. A lifelong Lynn resident, she was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School.
Nancy was the head clerk and administrative assistant for the City of Lynn, Building Department, for 35 years until her retirement in 2003. She was also the secretary for the City of Lynn Board of Appeals. Prior to that, she had worked at Sylvania for 15 years and Benson Shoe for seven years. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Mary’s Church in Lynn. Her life centered around her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She is survived by five grandchildren, William Hurley and his wife, Jacqueline of Brunswick, Maine, Nancy Hurley of Lynn, Brian Hurley and his wife, Maura of Danvers, Joseph Hurley and his wife, Christine of Lynn, and Theresa Hurley of Lynn; seven great-grandchildren, Ryanne Conway and her husband Ryan, and Julianne, Patrick, Samantha, Analise, Megan and Dana Hurley; and two great-great-grandchildren, Ava and Gavin Conway; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the adoptive mother of the late Theresa (DiTroia) Hurley; grandmother of the late Paul M. Hurley; and sister of the late Pasquale “Billy”, Thomas, Daniel, Adolfina, Geraldina, and Louise Dagostino.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her visitation will be held on Wednesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Lynn at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
