Beverly — Sylvia Barnett of Beverly passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House at the age of 94. She maintained her sharp mind and sense of humor up until the end. Sylvia was an avid reader and a music lover who also enjoyed traveling and watching old movies. She was a great cook and loved to prepare holiday dinners for family and friends. Sylvia lived in Beverly for over 65 years and enjoyed the beautiful beaches, frequent trips to the library and volunteering at Beverly Hospital. Sylvia treasured spending time with children and was fortunate to have many friends, relatives and neighbors who would visit with their children and grandchildren and be entertained by her lively stories.
Sylvia was the wife of the late Edward Barnett, who died in 1989. She was the loving mother of three daughters, Rosalind Cunningham and her husband Charles, Beverly Hendrickson and her late husband John, and Barbara Barnett, the loving sister of Barbara Lappin and her husband Jack, and the beloved grandmother of John Hendrickson, Scott Cunningham, and John Cunningham and his wife Marina. She also leaves her two great-granddaughters, Alyson and Erica Cunningham, several loving nieces and a nephew, and many special grandnieces, grandnephews and their children. She was predeceased by her sister, Rose Tuton and her brother, Leonard Stein.
