Lynn — Virginia L. “Ginny” (Ricker) Piercey, age 90, of Lynn, formerly of Peabody, died Wednesday at the Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Peabody after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late William G. Piercey. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Albert and C. Irene (Foley) Ricker. She was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. She had lived in Peabody for 50 years, and most recently in Lynn.
Ginny worked as a clerk for the Essex Superior Court in Salem for 25 years until her retirement in 1985. She enjoyed traveling, golf, reading, movies, lunch dates and crossword puzzles. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her friends and family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the beloved mother of Janet McAskill and her husband, John, of Lynn, Cynthia Peterson and her fiancé, Frank Obey, of Lynn, and William Piercey and his wife, Vickie, of Amesbury; the loving Nana of Philip Peterson and his wife, Julie, Carolyn Peterson, Leslie Sanders and her husband, Andrew, Eric Gustafson, and Conor and Logan Piercey; and loving Great-Nana of Benjamin, Jonathan and William Peterson, Oliver Harth and Caden Sanders. She also leaves the family dog, Parker.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, (Route 129), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Lynn at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
