Frederick E. Hurd, 62, died January 24, 2012 at home after a long illness.
He was born in Lynn on August 24, 1949, the son of Donald and Nellie (Marston) Hurd. He was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1967 and of Norwich University, Class of 1972.
Fred was employed as assistant Vice President by the Northfield Savings Bank in Vermont for over a decade. He was also employed by TransEd Assembly Plant in Brattleboro, VT as plant manager. He ended his career as a Reverse Mortgage Specialist for both Financial Freedom and Bank of America before retiring in 2009. He held the title of National Association of Securities Dealers and was also licensed for life and health insurance through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
He was very active member of his community and enjoyed riding his Harley, cooking gourmet meals, playing guitar and grooming his favorite horse, "Stoney."
He leaves his beloved wife Sandra (Chouinard) of Loudon, N.H.; his parents Donald & Nellie Hurd of Florida; two daughters, Julia Greene and her husband Thomas of N.H., and Evelyn Shields and her partner Vanessa Roy of Brighton; two granddaughters, Emma & Nora Greene; a sister, Barbara Calney and her husband Kenneth of Utah; brothers -in-law, Conrad Chouinard and his wife Madelyn of Swampscott, and Martin Chouinard and his wife Lisa of Danvers. In addition he leaves close childhood friends, Dennis Comeau of Revere, and Charlie Sabanty of Danvers, and longtime friends Frannie McAllan and Bob Wechsler.
