Richard P. Campana Sr., 76


Bradenton Beach, Fla. — Richard P. Campana Sr. died unexpectedly at his home in Bradenton. He was born and raised in Danvers and graduated from Danvers High School.

After graduation, Richard served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed for many years by Eastern Propane Gas Inc. in Danvers as a service technician. After leaving the propane business he pursued his dream of owning a tavern in Florida, where he purchased the Dry Dock Inn and owned the business for many years.

After his retirement he spent the majority of his time playing golf with his friends, and hanging with "the gang" at the Anchor Inn bragging about his golf game and Boston Sports.

He is survived by his brother, Vincent Campana of Del Rey Beach, Fla. and Danvers; his son Richard P Campana Jr. and his wife, Debra of Hamilton; his daughter, Lynn Torrey and her husband Scott of Peabody; and his son David Campana of Epping N.H. He also leaves six grandchildren.

Richard was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Josephine (Amenta) Campana; his sister Angelina Campana; and sister-in-law Aurora Campana, all of Danvers.
