Robert J. Waugh, 75


Lake Mary, Fla. — Robert J. Waugh, 75, beloved husband of Linda (Drew Pittington) Waugh, died Sunday, December 2, 2012, in Lake Mary, Fla., after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Born in Everett, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Sarah M. (Monk) Waugh. He attended Melrose High School and Northeastern University.

Bob was employed by General Electric in Lynn as a mechanical engineer for 45 years. Once retired, he spent his time traveling and woodworking.

Bob was a Mason in good standing (Mt. Carmel Lodge of Lynn), serving as Past Master, Treasurer and Secretary, and went further on to serve as the Salem District Deputy Grand Master.

He is survived by his wife, Linda (Drew Pittington) Waugh, with whom he shared 20 years of marriage; two sons, Robert J, and his wife, Nancy Waugh of Peabody and David J, and his wife, Kimberly Waugh of Danvers; two daughters, Susan, and her husband, Donald F McKenzie of Summerville, S.C., and Sandra, and her husband, Daniel G Martin of Tewksbury; two step-sons, Andrew and his wife, Janalyn Pittington of Lake Mary, Fla. and Mark Pittington of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his beloved sister, Sarah Mavis Gil of Sheffield; ten grandchildren, Nicholas, Johnathan, Sarah, Jeremiah, Shaun, Katie, Emily, Tyler, Haylee and Ella, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, June (Learned) Waugh and his infant son, Gary E. Waugh.

ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 11 a.m., at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 127 Summer Street, Lynnfield, followed by a Masonic service at Puritan Lawn Cemetery.
