Peaboody — Joan F. (Atkinson) Holuk, 82, of Lynn and formerly of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at her home, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late George Holuk.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Margaret (McMahon) Atkinson. She was raised and educated in Peabody and later attended Burdett Business School.
Joan worked part-time for a few years and upon the arrival of her children, she devoted her time to her family and was actively involved in all of their endeavors.
Joan had a special talent for doing arts and crafts and enjoyed painting. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was a former member of the Danvers Polish Club.
She is survived by her three daughters, Debbie Ann Holuk of West Chester, OH, Dianne and her husband Larry Pelletier of Weatherford, TX, and Donna and her husband Frank D’Amato of Middleton, her sister, Audrey M. Atkinson of Lynn and is also survived by her five loving grandchildren, Paul, Eric, Christopher, and Jonathan Pelletier, and Nicole D’Amato, and by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ray, Lloyd, Glen, and Wayne Atkinson.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
