Beverly — Patricia “Pat” A. (Harrington) Hirschfeld entered into eternal rest on Friday, 12/14, in her home, surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 17th in Boston, the daughter of the late Anne and William Harrington. She was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School, Class of 1945. She was a telephone operator for New England Telephone until she retired in 1992.
She was a passionate Red Sox fan all her life through good years and bad; she also loved the Patriots. She treasured gatherings with family and friends. She loved a day at the beach, sitting by the lake or any time spent in the warm sun. She also enjoyed playing poker and taking trips to Foxwoods and Florida with her beloved Joe, but her greatest joy was her 11 grandchildren, they were the light of her life. She attended many of their sporting events, activities and numerous celebrations. She was extremely proud of their various achievements and accomplishments.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Westrick of Beverly, John and Janice Hirschfeld of Newburyport, Joyce and Al Coe of Malakoff, TX, Jane and John McGuirk of Danvers, Steve and Linda Hirschfeld of Beverly, Brian and Susan Hirschfeld of Haverhill as well as her loving partner Joseph Turcotte and his entire family as well as her grandchildren Ryan, Adam, Jordan, Stefany, Lisa, John, Lindsay and Kevin Hirschfeld, Sean and Nick Allen and Brandon Coe. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Blake of Melrose and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Edmund, Robert and William Harrington, her son in law Ed Westrick and her dear friend Suzanne Lewis.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral mass for Pat will be celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch Street, Beverly, on Thursday, Dec. 20th, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to the McGuirk Memorial Fund c/o Mass General Hospital or Hospice of the North Shore.
