Dorothy (Hitchings) Gallant, 75, of Peabody and formerly of Beverly, died Friday afternoon at the Hunt Nursing Home in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Raymond Gallant with whom she shared over 52 years of marriage.
Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Hollis and Margaret (Seaver) Hitchings. She was raised and educated in Beverly and has spent the last 43 years living in Peabody.
Upon marrying her husband Raymond, Dorothy dedicated her life to raising and being with her family in all of their endeavors.
Besides her loving husband, she is survived by two sons, Raymond G. Gallant of Tamworth, NH and David Gallant of Lynn, a daughter, Donna Peterson of Maine and was the sister of Evelyn, Kenny, Eleanor, Ralph, Bonnie, Helen, Faith, John, Cookie, and Kathy and is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
