Adolph S. Dorosz, 93, beloved husband of Wanda (Strojny) Dorosz, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Beverly Hospital. Born in Bridgewater, he was son of the late Alexander and Margaret (Adamczyk) Dorosz.
Growing up, Adolph was an avid builder. He constructed a go-cart, and built a motorized boat, and transformed a Dodge engine, Ford frame, and two truck transmissions into a garden tractor. Following his graduation from Northeastern University, Adolph joined the design team at Chance Vought Aircraft, which built the famous Corsair Fighter Airplane. After the war he joined the United Shoe Machinery Company, where he received 75 patents. As a team leader, the group revolutionized the sewing of cowboy boots, where one girl loaded an automatic sewing machine, replacing the six man sewers. In his retirement years, he built the four-bedroom house on Bass River Road for himself and his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Edward Dorosz and his wife Susan of Tennessee, and David Dorosz of Beverly; one sister: Helen Dorosz of Taunton; three grandchildren: Dr. Jennifer Dorosz and her husband Dr. Brian Fonseca of Denver, CO, Lauren Dorosz of Boulder, CO and Kathryn Shrott and her husband Jignesh of Irvine, CA; and two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Xavier. He predeceased by his sister Jenny Tolivisa.
