Eugenie Hansen, 84


Exeter, N.H. — Eugenie “Jen” Agnes Hansen f/n/a Jenny Spinale, 84, of Portsmouth Ave., Exeter, N.H., passed away peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2012, in Exeter, N.H.

Jen was born on July 22, 1928, in Auburn, Maine, the daughter of John and Cecilia (Dumont) Coulombe. Jen worked in Quality Control at Transitron and Lawson Mfg. She was an active member of the Exeter Senior Center and of the Exeter Red Hat Society. Jen enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed. Jen had a great love for crocheting, bowling, bingo and a passion for sports, especially watching the Patriots & Bruins with her late husband, Bert.

Jen was predeceased by Wilbert L. Hansen, her loving husband of 30 years; her two brothers, John Coulombe and Edward Coulombe; her sister D. Paulette Rioux; and former husband Charles Spinale.

Jen is survived by her two sons, Charles Spinale and his wife, Betty and Richard Spinale and his wife, Victoria of Barrington, N.H. and their children and grandchildren; two daughters, Joyce E. Snow of Exeter, N.H., and Janet Spinale of Canton; her sister in-law and dear friend, Laura Coulombe of Topsfield; her grandchildren, C. Eric Spinale, Corinne Spinale, Erin Spinale and Timothy R. Snow; plus four great-grandchildren.

ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family may call at 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road, Rte 4, Lee, N.H. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Purdy Memorial Chapel. An interment service will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, January 9, at the St. Mary’s Cemetery, 226 North Street, Salem, MA.
