HAMILTON — Helen Mary (Rochford) Goggin, 100, beloved wife of the late Patrick J. Goggin, passed away at Masconomet Health Care Center in Topsfield on Saturday, January 12. Born in Sligo County, Ireland, she is the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Ruane) Rochford.
Helen grew up in Ireland and came to the United States when she was fifteen years old. For 42 years, she worked at the William A. Coolidge Estate in Topsfield. Helen loved to knit and sew, she was also a fantastic cook. Helen was a kind and generous woman who will truly be missed.
Surviving her are her two beloved twin daughters, Mary E. Akin and her husband, John of East Kingston, N.H., and Peg E. Reardon and her husband, Michael of Byfield; two brothers, John Rochford of Manchester, England, and Michael Rockford of Australia; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son John P. Goggin and her siblings, Dan Rochford, Joseph Rochford, Patrick Rochford and Delia Philbin.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Rose of Lima Church, 12 Park Street, Topsfield, on Saturday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly Location) on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery.
