Upon retirement, Carl enjoyed life to the fullest spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends. He was an avid golfer who golfed most mornings with the same group of golf buddies and former colleagues at Salem Greens. He was an amazing cook and tended to his garden daily. Flowers were a passion of his and all of the neighbors enjoyed his lush gardens. Yet above all else family was paramount. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his beloved wife of sixty years, Carl is survived by his daughters, Judith and her husband Henry Jensen of Hamilton and Alicia and her husband Bill Brady of Danvers, his sons, Carl DeOrio Jr and his wife Linda of Deering, N.H., and James P. DeOrio and his wife Donna of Salem, his eleven grandchildren, his sisters, Angela Buzzell and her husband Leon of Danville, N.H., and Ruth Murphy and her husband Paul of North Andover, his brother Thomas DeOrio of Methuen and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Peter C. DeOrio.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from The O’Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Square (At Salem Common), Salem, Wednesday at 11 A.M., followed by his funeral Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Margin St., Salem/Peabody line at 11:30 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is private. Visiting hours prior to the funeral from 9 to 10:30 A.M.
