Francis J. Curtin, 67


Marblehead — Francis J. Curtin, age 67, of Marblehead, died unexpectedly, Monday, January 14, 2013, at the NSMC/ Salem Hospital. He was the devoted husband and best friend of Annie G. (Herlihy) Curtin.

Born and raised in Waterbury, Conn., he was the son of the late Francis J. and Theresa C. (Murphy) Curtin. Frank served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. For most of his life he worked as a certified counselor in drug and alcohol abuse.

He last worked for the Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown. He moved to Marblehead from Mystic two years ago.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two beloved daughters, Kelly T. Taylor and her husband Robert J. of Dayville, CT, Kathryn E. LeBlanc of Woodstock, CT, two step-children, Christopher Bernier and his wife Lori of Preston, CT, and Laura Griggs and her husband Shawn of Wells, ME, two sisters, Patricia Ayers and her husband George of Waterbury, CT and Cathrine Curtin of Thiells, NY. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Ashley & Austin Taylor, Andrew & Abby LeBlanc, Lindsay & Jacob Bernier, Tyler, Brady & Hayley Griggs.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial Mass on Friday, January 18, 2013, at 11 A.M. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 85 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead, MA.
