Salem — Genevieve M. Coletti, 89, of Salem died peacefully, Tuesday, January 15, 2013, in the Devereux House, Marblehead, following a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of Salem.
Genevieve was born in Salem, the daughter of the late Stefano and Carmella (Cellucci) Coletti. She was a graduate of St. James High School. Genevieve was employed for over 25 years at Sylvania, Endicott Street facility, Danvers, as a clerk in their billing department and was a member of their Quarter Century Club.
A very religious woman, Genevieve was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Italian Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector and was a member of their Holy Name Society up to the time of the Church’s closing. Genevieve was a member of the Third Order of the Carmelites, Danvers, and served as Eucharistic Minister at Salem Hospital for several years.
Surviving her is her sister, Veronica Racki of Beverly, her sister-in-law, Bessie Coletti of Haverhill and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was also the sister of the late, Torino “Duke”, Milano “Mal”, Anthony, George, and Francis Coletti, Nicoletta Ruscio, Lucy Smigliano, and Elbena Coletti.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the David H. Gonet Funeral Home, 22 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Salem, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Friday, from 4–7 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Parking is available in the church parking lot across the street from the funeral home.
