Beverly — Mr. Orlando J. “Eli” DiPaolo, 87, of Beverly, beloved husband of the late Jane R. (Grasso) DiPaolo, died on Saturday, November 16, at home, with his family by his side.
Born in Niles, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas and Gilda (Nina) DiPaolo. He was raised and educated in the Niles school system.
Eli was the mainstay at DiPaolo’s North Beverly Gardens. Prior to that he had been employed at Essex Engineering in Lynn. He enjoyed carrying on the family tradition of gardening, growing flowers and landscaping.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, he enjoyed many trips to Foxwoods accompanied by his two devoted daughters. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Mr. DiPaolo is survived by his two daughters, Diane Armitage and her husband, Robert, of Beverly, and Donna Fellows, wife of the late Robert Fellows of Beverly; his grandchildren Jimmy Tremblay and his wife, Melissa, of Texas, Michael Tremblay and his wife, Kimberly, of Salem, N.H., Jessie Fellows of Savannah, Ga., and Zachary Fellows of Beverly; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Johanna Manzi of Beverly; two brothers, William DiPaolo and his wife, Gigi, of Topsfield, and Thomas DiPaolo and his wife, Carol, of Peabody; many nieces and nephews; and RJ, his faithful canine friend.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in The O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Square, at Salem Commons, Salem, on Wednesday, November 20, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
