TOPSFIELD, MA — Nancy Williams Hills, 90, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2013. She was a lifelong resident of Topsfield, where she attended Topsfield Academy and Topsfield High School. She graduated from Colby-Sawyer College and worked for many years as a secretary in Boston and in the local area, including a stint with the American Missions Board. She was a member of the Topsfield Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school and served on the hospitality committee of the Women’s Fellowship. She also served for many years on the Topsfield Historical Society hospitality committee. She will be remembered by friends and acquaintances as a sunny, helpful, positive spirit.
She enjoyed the outdoors, museums, her many pets, and doing things with her family. A devoted wife and mother, she was predeceased by her husband, John, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. She leaves behind a daughter, Anne Hills Barrett and her husband, Bob, and their two children, Sarah and Hannah Barrett. She also leaves a son, John Henry Hills, his wife, Deb, and his two children, Jennifer and Benjamin.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held at the Congregational Church of Topsfield on Saturday, November 23, at 2 p.m. Donations in her memory can be made to the Congregational Church of Topsfield or the Topsfield Historical Society.
