Beverly — Mrs. Mary C. (Finn) Burke, 94, beloved wife of the late Michael Joseph Burke, died Thursday, November 21, 2013, at the Herrick House in Beverly surrounded by her family.
Born and raised in Malden, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Ann (Sheehan) Finn and was a graduate of Chevrus High School in Malden.
A longtime resident of the City of Beverly, she was a member of the Bass Rocks Golf Club in Gloucester for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. The family would also like to thank the dedicated staff at the Herrick House for the care and comfort they provided.
Surviving her are her six children, former Essex County District Attorney and Secretary of Public Safety for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Kevin Burke and his wife, Patricia, of Beverly, George Burke and his wife, Louise, of Beverly, Joanne Fisher and her husband, Jack, of Beverly, Michael J. Burke Jr. and his wife, Paula, of Rumford, RI, Elaine Howell and her husband, Woody, of Beverly and Patrick Burke and his wife, Laura, of Beverly; thirteen grandchildren, Caitlin Brown, Matthew Burke, and Brigid Durant, Brendan Burke, Martha Krol and Kevin Burke, Burke Howell, Bryan, Barry and Benjamin Tuthill, Michael J. Burke III, Devin and Mary Burke; nine great-grandchildren, Christian Burke, William Krol, Bailey Burke, Liam Burke, Morgan Brown, Lillyanne Durant, Max Tuthill, Maggie Tuthill and Ella Tuthill; a sister, Margaret McBride of Stoneham; a brother, James Finn of Stoneham; several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Anna Fitzgerald, Roy, David and John Finn.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch St., North Beverly, Saturday, November 23 at 12 noon. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, Saturday morning from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. prior to the Mass. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
