Peabody MA — Gertrude (Whalen) Ryan, R.N., 94, of Plantation, Florida, died on Monday, November 19, 2012. She was the wife of the late Donald E. Ryan. She was born in Hatfield, Massachusetts, and had resided on the North Shore most of her life before moving to Florida.

She had been a Registered Nurse, working at the Salem Hospital for many years.

Gertrude is survived by two daughters, Donna and her husband Robert Feeley, Karen and her husband Stephen Bogue and Sister Ann Ryan S.N.D. of the Sisters of Notre Dame, a son Donald E. Ryan Jr., six grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Service was held on Friday, November 23, 2012, in Hollywood, Fla., with the committal services held on Saturday, Nov. 24, at the family lot in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, with Rev. David Lewis of St. Adelaide’s Church, West Peabody, officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame, 468 Poquonock Ave., Windsor, CT. 06095 in her memory. Assisting the family with the local arrangements was the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home of Peabody.
