Salem — Howard “Woody” Saltzberg, age 56, of Salem, died on Wednesday after a lengthy illness in Salem Hospital. Born in Quincy, he attended Newton South High School and graduated from Tilton Academy in N.H. He had recently moved to Salem and previously resided in Newton.
Beloved husband of Susan McCarthy Saltzberg; dear son of the late Leo and Marcelle Saltzberg; devoted father of Amy and her husband, Anthony Colon of Rockland, Andrew Saltzberg of Bellingham, Michael Gerrish Jr. of Cranston, R.I., and Ashley Gerrish of Salem; cherished grandfather of Hope Colon, Jordon Gerrish, Aniah Gerrish, Jaziah Salas, Javion “Little Paul” Salas and the late Ezrial Salas; loving brother of Edward Saltzberg and his wife, Sharon Schoeller of Falls Church, Va., Robert Saltzberg and his late wife, Marilyn of Franklin, Marilyn and her husband, Richard Martino of Sudbury.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services at the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St., Salem-Swampscott line, on Monday, December, 3 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the Harmony Grove Cemetery, Grove St., Salem. Memorial observance Monday from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Jefferson at Salem Station Club House, 190 Bridge St., Salem.
