Clearwater, Fla. — Elaine Moynihan passed away after a brief illness, with family by her side. Born in Danvers to Stephen and Adeline (nee Silva) Kassotis, she attended Peabody and Danvers High Schools. She owned and operated Spoilin’ Spot Day Care in her home for 16 years.
Elaine is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Derocher and Jacqueline Moynihan; grandchildren, David, Mitchell, Victoria and Alex; one sister, Carol Stepenuck of Beverly, and her children, Steve, Scott, Cyndi and Debbie, and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. For 34 years, Elaine was married to Francis “Bud” Moynihan of Peabody.
Elaine spent many memorable weekends at Pine Acres Campground in Raymond, N.H., where the family had a camper on a seasonal campsite. In 2005 she moved to Clearwater, where she had a busy social life, and enjoyed dressing up to attend "plenty of fish" events with her many friends. Always the life of the party, Elaine would be the first one there, and the last to leave, spending the whole night on the dance floor. She also enjoyed cooking and delighted guests with recipes from her Greek heritage, of which she was very proud. Elaine would have done anything for anyone she knew without hesitation. Her generosity, kind heart and love for life will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
The family is eternally grateful to Village Place Assisted Living Facility in Port Charlotte, Fla. for providing Elaine with the care and love usually only associated with family.
ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elaine’s name to Village Place.
