Mary F. (Creegan) Lundgren

Lynn — Mrs. Mary F. (Creegan) Lundgren, age 92, of Lynn, died peacefully on her birthday Sunday morning in the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late James Lundgren.

Born in Boston on February 24, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Philip Creegan and Mary Phyllis (Boudreau) Pimentel and stepdaughter of the late Albert Pimentel. She attended Chelsea Schools and was a graduate of Chelsea High School. She remained there until 1942 when she moved to Lynn. For the past three years, she resided at the Essex Park Nursing Home in Beverly before being moved to the Kaplan Family Hospice House.

Prior to her retirement in 1987, she spent over 25 years as a devoted employee at Salem Hospital, taking many trips with her friends from the hospital. Mary was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed traveling and especially spending time with her family.

She leaves her children, James Lundgren and his wife Karen of Beverly, John R. Lundgren and his partner Melinda Gachignard of Salem, Janice Leary of North Reading, Julie M. Lundgren and her partner Cathy Halper of Albuquerque, NM, and Jane A. Kotelly and her husband Richard of Billerica. She was the Grandmother to James and Kevin Kotelly, Alison Connolly and Colleen Leary and Great-Grandmother to Hannah, Emma and Benjamin Kotelly.

ARRANGEMENTS: Mary’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Friday at 9:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be private. Visiting Hours Thursday 3-7PM.
