Doris R. (Cragg) Milner, 92


Beverly, MA — Doris R Milner, 92, passed away Friday Morning, February 22nd, in the presence of family, at The Blueberry Hill Nursing Home in Beverly. Doris was born on June 22, 1920, and lived in Manchester-By-The-Sea and Beverly all her life. She was predeceased by the love of her life, John A. "Red" Milner. She was one of the "Cragg Girls," daughter of the late William and Abbie Cragg, and sister to the late Abbie (Tot) Eaton, Marion E. Coffin, William Cragg, Helen T. Radack, and Marjorie Thomas. Doris is survived by her son, Peter C. Milner and wife, Cheryl, of Clearwater, Florida; her daughter, Janice A. Redding, of Manchester-By-The-Sea, and Joan Daley and her husband, Ronald of Beverly Farms; four grandchildren, Jennifer Nelson and wife Patricia Sweeney of Beverly, Craig G. Redding of Buxton, Me, John C. Milner and wife, Erin, of Gloucester and Sarah Basil of Burlington. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, Cody R. Redding, Calvin D. Redding and Owen G. Redding of Buxton, Me, and Quinn Rose Milner and William Stanley Milner of Gloucester. Doris was also blessed by caring and loving nieces and nephews and a large extended family.

Doris was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a Past Noble Grand of Manchester's Rebecca Lodge and a lifelong communicant of St John's Episcopal Church in Beverly Farms.

In her more active years Doris was an avid NE sports fan, loved to travel with her sisters, bowl, play bingo, braid rugs, quilt, knit, and play cards. Many times she would beat her granddaughter and grandson at cribbage - and to her boastful delight, even "skunking" them occasionally!! Doris was a wonderful cook and passed along her delicious family recipes for all to enjoy. The last of her generation in her family, Doris will be missed beyond words

ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral service will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 705 Hale Street, Beverly Farms, on Saturday, March 2nd at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location) on Friday, March 1st from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Manchester.
