Danvers — Mrs. Sadie May (Thorne) Deleskey 83, of Danvers, beloved wife of the late James Deleskey, died Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, with her family by her side.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late George and Ann (MacDonald) Thorne. She immigrated to this country at the age of 13, settled in Danvers and continued her education.
After graduation from Danvers High School, she studied to become a nurse.
Sadie loved the nursing profession and worked for over 43 years at Beverly Hospital as a Maternity Ward nurse. A loving and caring person, she enjoyed all the rewards that came from working in this department.
She is survived by her brother James Thorne and his wife Joy of Ontario, Canada, her sister Vivian Weir of New Brunswick, Canada, several nieces, nephews and cousins including Jean B. Snow of Danvers. Sadie was an integral part of the Snow family for over three generations.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Service will be held in the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St. (Rte. 62), Danvers, Monday, March 4th, 2013, at 7 P.M. Visiting hours prior to the service from 5 to 7 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
