Brian H. Lombard, 72

Ipswich — Ipswich – Brian H. Lombard, 72, husband of Barbara (Bradley) Lombard, died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Born in Danvers on October 14, 1940, he was the son of the late John and Eleanor (Dodge) Lombard.

He grew up in Ipswich and Hamilton and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1958 where he was voted best athlete. “BH” enlisted in the service in 1958 and graduated from North Shore Community College with a degree in Criminal Justice. BH was a retired member of the Massachusetts State Police where he achieved the rank of sergeant. Prior, he was a member of the Ipswich Police Department. He was well known in Ipswich and was the proud owner of Ye Olde Barber Shop. BH was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather.

His greatest joys were his children and grandchildren whether it be spending time watching a Giants football game, giving them rides on the tractor, or attending one of their sporting events as their biggest fan. BH enjoyed an active lifestyle, always on the move, and if there was a party or an event, he was sure to be there. BH was proud of his Irish heritage and always had Irish music playing in his Irish room at his home in Bartlett, NH.

Brian is survived by his wife of 50 years Barbara, his 4 children and their spouses: Brian Hayden Lombard, Jr. and Debora of Ipswich, Michael John Lombard and Heidi of Bridgewater, Kristin Anne Brouillette and David of Ipswich, Kevin Bradley Lombard and Elizabeth also of Ipswich. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren: John, Brian III and Jillian, Mickey, Colin and Willie, Jasen, Allison, Samantha and Kayci, Hannah and Sarah. Brian is also survived by a brother Richard Lombard and his wife Myrna of Ipswich, a nephew Billy Weston and three nieces, Dede Maroun, Mary Tkachuk and Katie Bruner. Brian was predeceased by his sister, Anne Weston, formerly of Marblehead.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 2nd. at 10 A.M. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Burial with military honors will follow in the New Highland Cemetery, 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Visiting hours will be Friday, March 1st. from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main Street, Ipswich. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
