    Lynn, MA — Harold (Billy) Ransom, 81, died at his home in Lynn, Mass., on March 26, from Alzheimer’s disease. Bill grew up in Danvers, Mass., and went to high school in Beverly. In 2003, he was in the first group of inductees into the Beverly High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his achievements in football, track and baseball. He was a proud veteran who spent two years in the Korean War, and returned to finish his education at Boston University, obtaining a master’s degree in education. Bill worked as a teacher and coach at schools in Woburn, Gloucester and Conway, N.H., but spent most of his teaching and coaching years at Malden Catholic, where he made lifetime friends from the students he loved. One of those loved students was Mark Cannon, who in 2011, organized a special evening where Bill was given recognition from Malden Catholic for his dedicated loyalty and outstanding accomplishments. As a teenager, he learned the trade of bricklaying from the Montoni family in Beverly, who treated him as one of their own. He was a member of the Bricklayer’s Union for over 50 years. With the help of many of his friends he met in the trades and his students, he built a home in Bartlett, N.H. He was happiest skiing, golfing and working on his chalet on the Sacco River, where he wanted all his family and friends to come.

    Manhattan, NY — Tony Biancucci, 56, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 22, at his home in Manhattan. He was born in Beverly on April 10, 1957, and graduated from Beverly High School, Class of 1975. Tony split his time between between New York City and France, where he spent many long and glorious summers. A creative and energetic soul, Tony was an accomplished writer, photographer and designer. He saw the world as an adventure, and embraced it with love, laughter and excitement. Tony fully enjoyed life, friends and family, sharing meals and hilarious stories. He was devoted to his wife and his art.

    Phoenix, Arizona — Rudolph (Rudy) Luz, 84, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed peacefully on March 12, 2014. He was born on June 11, 1929, in Peabody, Mass., to Joseph and Mary Luz. He married Dorothy M. Aylward in 1951, and will now share eternal life together. They had lived in Peabody, Mass., before relocating to Arizona in 1991. Rudy’s amazing spirit will live on in his family, Diane and Greg Angelakis, Joseph and Laura Luz, Catherine Luz, Dawn and Charles Cater, Gilbert and Eileen Luz, Joanne Connors, Steve Luz, and Mark Luz; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Luz and Richard Luz; and one sister, Josephine Gamberony.

    Middleton — Cheryl (Levine) Watson, 64, of Middleton, died on March 21, 2014, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Richard Muzzy, her husband of 34 years. Born in Malden, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Sarah (Arnofsky) Levine. She was raised in Everett, and was a graduate of Everett High School and Salem State College. She had lived in Middleton since 1980. Cheryl was the Chief of Victim and Witness Services for the Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett’s office. Previously, she worked for the Massachusetts Attorney General as the Director of the Victim Compensation and Assistance Division, the Massachusetts Office of Victim Assistance, as a victim witness advocate for the Essex County District Attorney's Office, and as the co-founder of the Victims of Crime and Loss Program (VOCAL) in Beverly. Cheryl was well known for her compassion, leadership and commitment to victims of crime. She served on numerous boards, was the recipient of many awards, and spoke locally and nationally on victim-related issues.
