Pittsfield — Sandy Pohas, 70, passed away on April 4, 2013, in Pittsfield, under the care of Hospice following a long illness. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Sally Pohas. Although Sandy endured many physical and mental challenges throughout her life, she was a fun, vibrant person; bringing great joy to her caretakers. Sandy will be laid to rest with her mother, Sally Pohas; her sister, Virginia Crowell-Spear; and her grandparents, Ronald and Helen Crowell. She is survived by her brother, Harry John Pohas, Jr.; and sisters, Virginia Pohas-Moulton, Barbara Ann Smith, and Judith Cockerham. Rest in peace, Sandy.

Cheney, WA — Mr. Clifton B. Rock of Cheney, Wash., passed away peacefully at the Spokane Hospice House on April 21, 2013. Clif was born on April 30, 1922, the son of Oliver and Hannah (Brown) Rock of Beverly, Mass. He grew up in the Ryal Side neighborhood of Beverly, attended local schools, and graduated from Beverly High School in 1939.

Sprucehead, ME — David E. Trask, son of the late Harry E. and Jean R. (Walker) Trask died at home on April 27, after an almost two-year battle with Non-Hodgkins Lyphoma. David was born November 3, 1941, in Salem, Mass. and grew up in Boxford, Mass., attending local schools. He was a graduate of Topsfield High School and the Whittemore School of Business at the University of New Hampshire. He married Virginia R. Durkee, another graduate of Topsfield High School, in 1963. They made their home in Boxford where they raised their two daughters Ellen and Laura. While living in Boxford, Dave served on the Conservation Commission and Planning Board.

She was the cherished grandmother of Olga, Heather and her husband, Gordon, Alan and Beth; and great-grandmother of Riley. She was the dear sister of Harvey Rosenfeld and his wife, Michelle of Maine.

Salem, MA — Mary Elizabeth Lee “Betty” Wilbert, age 96, wife of the late Rev. William C. Wilbert, Sr., died on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at home. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Pennypacker) Griffen of Pittsburgh and St, David’s, Pa. Mrs, Wilbert was an active member of the altar guilds of the Episcopal churches at which her husband served in Pittsburgh, Youngsville, and Monongahela, Pa., and in Mayville, N.Y. She was also a dedicated volunteer for the public libraries in Youngsville and Mayville. Following her husband’s death in 1980, she was the hostess and house manager at the Episcopal Cottage at the Chautauqua Institution, N.Y., for the 1983-1994 summer seasons.
