By all measures, Arts Fest Beverly was a huge success this year! We were lucky to have one of the few sunny days in June and thousands of people came out to enjoy the sun, buy gifts and goodies, make their own art masterpieces and enjoy great music and community performances.
Arts Fest is one of the signature annual events of Beverly Main Streets. Our committee was led by the talented Pat Murphy, Kathleen Moore and Jennifer Pierce. Tireless committee members included Donna Musemeci, Nick Zarkades, Janice Brandano-DeSimone and Len Thomas-Vickory.
At the festival, we rely on community volunteers to make it all happen seamlessly. Thanks to Amy Maxner, Kate Newhall, Aisling Mullen, Bob Monahan, Bill Howard, Bob Murphy, Tim Smith, Sophie Wallace, Dean Porteous, Justin Belliveau, Irene and Mariah Christ-Kirkpatrick, Jo and Phil Broderick, Bill and Liz Lee, Megan Cafferty, Molly McDonald, Eileen Duggan, Miranda Gooding, Louise Fenn, Jonah Hulbert, Pam Carlquist, Laurena and Alexa Morehead, Russ Moore, Mayor Bill Scanlon, Rep. Our annual VIP party to celebrate the artists, our sponsors and volunteers was held at the stunning new Center for the Arts at Endicott College, a perfect setting for an arts festival party! Dr. Richard Wylie and Kathleen Moore were gracious hosts for the evening, which was also supported by donations from Alexander's Beer and Wine, Mercury Brewing and Sweeney's Greenhouse.
The party also served as the debut of the summer-long Arts Fest Beverly Exhibit of Community Artists at Endicott. This inspiring exhibit showcases work by artists who live, work or study in Beverly. Check Endicott's Web site at www.endicott.edu for details about the exhibit.
Finally, Arts Fest relies on community sponsors to fund the event. This year, our major sponsors were the Beverly National Bank and The Salem News. Contributors included Beverly Cooperative Bank, the Beverly Cultural Council, Beverly Rotary Club, Windover Construction, Beverly Hospital, Colucci Norman LLP, Glen Urquhart School, Landmark School, Robert D. Murphy Associates Inc., Cranney Home Services, Danversbank, Endicott College, Kathleen Moore, Micro Support Group, Temkin Financial Group, Tony Fontes, Ward 2 Councilor Wes Slate and Bill Weeks.
