Letter: Didn't like jab at elderly drivers

To the editor:

We took great offense at your photograph in the Monday, July 6, paper depicting a Beverly Farms Horribles Parade float making fun of senior drivers.

It was definitely in very poor taste.

My husband is 87 and one of the most careful drivers I know. Have there never been any problems involving Beverly Farms drivers?

I agree that there are some problems with drivers, but the other day seven teens were killed driving and drinking with not a senior in sight.

This is getting to be a regular occurrence in Massachusetts, but I tell you we seniors would never think of poking fun at these tragedies.

Our hearts go out to the families of those involved.
