Letter: Sick of the lies

To the editor:

I am writing in response to your article in your Oct. 26 edition, “Rep candidates face off.”

In it, the reporter compares the $100,000 that the town of Danvers has received for reimbursement of the more than $400,000 we have spent, and while he incorrectly compares these two numbers, I think the bigger point is being missed and has caused me to wonder why Democrats have such a problem with something called “the truth.”

President Barack Obama and his entire administration have a hard time telling the truth about what really happened in Benghazi, Libya, in an event that left four Americans dead. If we cannot get a straight answer on an event that left four Americans dead, then how do we expect straight answers on the economy?

Professor Elizabeth Warren has still not explained why she would present herself to Harvard University as a Native American when the facts tell a different story. If she can’t tell the truth about her past, why would we want her involved in our future?

Congressman John Tierney seems to think that issues regarding his brother in-law are irrelevant, claiming that he had no knowledge of the criminal behavior even though millions of dollars were flowing through a family bank account. If he has no knowledge of activity in his own checkbook, then why would we want him anywhere near our national checkbook?

State Rep. Ted Speliotis refers to a $100,000 reimbursement for a $400,000 expense as “fully funded.” If Speliotis does not understand that $100,000 is far LESS than $400,000, and not even close to “fully funded,” then why would we believe anything else that his literature claims?

I am so sick and tired of the lies, and I will be voting for the candidates who tell the truth.

I will be voting for Mitt Romney, Scott Brown, Richard Tisei and Dan Bennett, and I ask everyone to do the same.
