Letter: Powerless against robocalls

To the editor:

With all this information about the government being able to record all phone calls (although they say they do not listen in), how come the government cannot track the “robocalls” and other telemarketing calls so they can be shut down according to the “no-call list?” My latest call came at 2:20 a.m. from a company in India. The area code is 719. It took me two minutes to find the company and all the 719 area codes used for the irritating calls.

The FTC cannot seem to shut them down except when one “robocall” accidentally called the FTC! So, no more “card service members” calls.

Anyone else see the irony of all this?
