Letter: 'No' is best for Beverly

To the editor:

I will be voting “No” on the Brimbal Avenue referendum and my reasons are quite simple.

In light of the recent developments concerning the location of the connector road and information concerning the state’s financial commitment, you must ask yourself, what will my “No” vote get me.

1. Five million dollars from the state to improve the traffic flow. Regardless of the swap.

2. Reduce the size of the proposed shopping center.

3. Allow community involvement in the planning of the development and road improvements.

A “No” vote is really what’s best for Beverly.

A “No” vote is a yes vote to $5 million, a manageable shopping center and community involvement. What could be wrong with that? Voting “No” is the only responsible way of voting and is the best solution and compromise for what’s best for Beverly.
