Letter: Grateful for toy drive success

The Salem News

---- — To the editor:

For 25 years now, I have been coordinating the annual Christmas toy drive for the Department of Children and Families on the North Shore. It is a wonderful program where by hundreds of gifts, toys, clothes, even bedding are anonymously donated to foster kids, in the true spirit of giving. We started this rewarding endeavor with the cooperation of a few local post offices and now it includes other generous donors.

For helping to organize another successful year, I would like to publicly acknowledge and thank my fellow postal employees: Tim and Mary Provost and Brian McCarthy of Peabody; Bernadette Maglione and Amy Thompson of Danvers; Dennis Harrell of Beverly; Sandy Reardon of Salem; and Donna Howard of Marblehead. Also, we thank Dan Fox of Merry Fox Realty, police Chief Paul Tucker, Officer Nancy O’Donnell and the Patrolman’s Relief Fund for their extraordinary generosity. A special thanks to Sharon Armstrong and Janelle McCue. Thanks to everyone who participated to make things a little more right in this world.
